The Westclox Travelmate Folding Alarm Clock is a folding clock designed for waking you up while away from home. It features an LCD display with ½-inch digits set at a slight angle to make it very easy to read. It also comes with a snooze function as well as a backlight that you turn on at will. The clock is operated by a button battery, which is included at purchase, and it can flip shut to give you a very compact item to pack into your suitcase, measuring a mere 3-1/2 x ½ x 2-1/2 inches when snapped closed. The covering, which protects the keys and other components of the clock, also becomes its own stand when opened, making it easy to leave it standing on a bedside table. It also boasts of having all its control buttons right on the front where they are easily accessible.
Westclox Travelmate Folding Alarm Clock Review:
The close to one hundred customers who wrote reviews for this alarm clock gave it an average rating of 4.2 stars. This is definitely impressive, as majority of the many reviewers were so happy with it as to give it a 5.0-star rating, and another quarter of them gave it a 4.0-star rating.
The clock received much accolade for being inexpensive while very simple to use, without even requiring a manual. The alarm sound was also confirmed to be just right. One reviewer appreciated the folding function of this clock, as, when it was opened, it did not collapse, as other travel alarms tended to do. The clock was found to be very durable, too, even comparable to other items that cost three times as high. The snooze feature, which extended the alarm time for 4 minutes, was reportedly practically limited; the reviewers also appreciated how hitting the snooze button would light up the clock face. Another reviewer was a self-professed jetsetter who liked this clock over all the travel alarm clocks he had tried; he commended it for working well while being very easy to operate. At least one customer shared that he would not use any other travel alarm clock after having found this one, and even commented that he even used this clock everyday at home as well.
So far, one minor disadvantage to this clock was that it used a 1.5-volt button battery instead of AA or AAA, which would have been easier to replace. Still, the customer who brought that up conceded that she liked it anyway. One user had the unfortunate experience of receiving a unit that did not sound, though the display would flash at the time when the alarm was supposed to go off, which was obviously a defective unit.
From these reviews, we believe this would make a very good travel alarm clock that you can depend on during your frequent trips. You can now say goodbye to bulky clocks to bring in your luggage or having to depend on unreliable wake-up calls at unfamiliar hotels!
